The Family Division Paralegal Unit assists attorneys and self-represented parties in certain family law cases.
The paralegals are not lawyers, and cannot provide legal advice, but they aid the court through their special education and training in matters involving family law. The paralegals review and process certain family law cases, aiding the court by noting procedural problems in pleadings.
The paralegals aid the court by overseeing Scheduling Conferences and processing emergency pleadings. They may answer procedural questions for lawyers and parties.
